as the rain fell and washed away her face

as the rain fell and washed away her face
it left behind the only remaining features of an honesty
prepared to lay down and die
for these words and this love
for the slightest glint of a soul
so incredibly intense
a sour victory over the mind and rationalization
with unknown intentions
and sticky, biodegradeable nerves
with a gelatin-like touch
and plastic features
those big, bright eyes
need someone to marvel at them

Untitled For Now

a poetic contribution. courtesy of gabriel david.

I will for what I want, For what I want is what I am

It is not a selfish want.
Its power given before
My Soul could speak.

Its comforting light shines through me
and wraps around my soul,
I can never refuse.

For what I want was never mine to choose,
For what I want was never mine to own.

For what I want is more than I can take.

The Abandoned Piano, a poem

those poor lonely keys,
they haven't been touched in years,
and they won't be thought of for many more,
because she can't forget about that boy.

the one that used to sit there and play them,
the boy that used to play the notes that
would wrap around her heart
and take over her soul until she was forced
to just sit, sit and listen.

sit and listen as the songs and days drifted on.

falling in love with something so beautiful was the easy part,
falling out may take some time.

Self-Reliance

We have kind of an influential crush on Ralph Waldo Emerson

envy in ignorance
suicide in imitation
vibrating my heart against
its iron string
accept your transcendent destiny
release your bound handkerchiefs
so the world can smite you
with its displeasure
bring back the nonconsistency
regrets as false prayers

"Society everywhere is in conspiracy against the manhood of everyone of its members."
"To be great is to be misunderstood..."
"Our minds travel when our bodies are forced to stay at home. We imitate and what is imitation but the traveling of the mind?"
-Ralph Waldo Emerson
